Installation

Require the package. The service provider and the GooglePlaces facade alias are auto-discovered — no manual registration and no migrations:

composer require roundly-consulting/google-places-for-laravel

Add your Google Maps Platform key to .env. In the Google Cloud console, enable the Places API (New), the Routes API and the Geocoding API for that key:

GOOGLE_PLACES_API_KEY=your-google-maps-api-key

That’s all the configuration the package needs. The config file is optional — publish it only to trim field masks or tune timeouts, caching, logging and rate limits:

php artisan vendor:publish --tag="google-places-config"

Verify the key

Run the preflight check to confirm the key works and each of the three Google APIs is enabled and reachable. The key is redacted in the output:
