# Installation

Require the package. The service provider and the Metrics facade alias are auto-discovered, and there is nothing to migrate — the package reads from your existing models and tables:

```bash
composer require roundly-consulting/metrics-for-laravel
```

Publishing the config is optional — the package merges sensible defaults. metrics-config is the only publish tag; it copies config/metrics.php into your app:

```bash
php artisan vendor:publish --tag="metrics-config"
```

## What gets installed

- RoundlyConsulting\\Metrics\\MetricsServiceProvider — registers the config, two console commands and a Metrics section in php artisan about.
- The Metrics facade (RoundlyConsulting\\Metrics\\Facades\\Metrics) — proxies the MetricsManager singleton, which is also bound in the container as metrics.
- No migrations, routes or views — metrics are computed from queries you already have.

Two small Roundly packages come along as dependencies: enums-for-laravel (the helpers behind the Period and Unit enums) and package-toolkit-for-laravel (the service-provider bootstrap).
