# Requirements

- PHP 8.4+
- Laravel 12 or 13
- ext-zlib and ext-phar — used by geolocation:db:update to unpack the MaxMind archive
- Credentials only for the providers you use: a Google Maps API key with the Geocoding API and the Routes API enabled, an IP2Location.io key, a MaxMind account and license key, and optionally an IPinfo token

Composer also installs three small Roundly packages the geolocation layer builds on: package-toolkit-for-laravel (service provider, about section, the retry-after contract), enums-for-laravel (helpers on DistanceType and GeolocationType) and http-client-rate-limits-for-laravel (per-provider pacing). No vendor SDKs — every call goes through Laravel’s own HTTP client, and the MaxMind reader is native.
