# Use cases

Events for Laravel is headless: it owns the data, the rules, the safety and the edge cases, and you build the screens on top — or switch on its JSON API for a single-page or mobile app. The same core serves very different products, because each one leans on a capability that ships in the box:

- Community and meetup platforms — recurring meetups, local groups, clubs and associations. Members RSVP with guests (max\_guests, or a ticket type’s party limits), a full event puts newcomers on a first-fit waitlist, a freed seat moves the next party up and tells them by mail, and a volunteer scans phones at the door.
- Venues and clubs — a jazz bar, a theatre or a coworking space publishing its own programme. A venue is saved once with its address, coordinates and timezone, Events::browse()->near($here) lists what is on within a radius, and Events::feeds()->public() gives regulars a calendar they subscribe to.
- Conferences, workshops and course providers — dated sessions with capacity limits and several ticket types (free, supporter, a hidden crew type), all-day and multi-day events, confirmation mails that carry the check-in code and reminders at offsets you choose.
- Apps that sell tickets through their own checkout — a paid ticket type holds the seat while your Contracts\\CollectsAdmissionPayment opens the checkout, your webhook confirms with Events::rsvps()->confirmPayment(), and late or superseded payments are refused so you can refund them. The package never touches money.
- Members-only and company events — private events are invite-only: each invitation is a single-use link stored only as a hash, an account invitee answers only signed in as themselves, and the event never shows up in lists, feeds, search data or anyone else’s notices.
- City and tourism apps — announced public events within 25 km of the visitor, nearest first, filtered by category, with schema.org JSON-LD so search engines show them as events.

Start with one venue and a free event and grow into the rest: ticket types, payments, private events, team organizers and the API are configuration, not a fork. The status workflow, the payment collector, the check-in code format, the URLs, the notices, the policies and the models are all swappable.
